Hijrat (2016) Director-writer Farouq Mengal's Retribution for days spent in Central Jail
Director-writer Farouq Mengal was exonerated from his deceased wife Afreen Baig’s murder case in 2009 when a sessions court put an end to the ‘whodunit’ story. He however did spend time in confinement at Central Prison Karachi and that is where he conceived his debut feature film – Hijrat. “I came up with the idea of the film when I was behind bars,” he told The Express Tribune.

The main lobby echoed with the #carols during hi tea at Nadia. The in-house guests were welcomed with traditional #Christmas
songs when they came down to the lobby and encouraged to sing along.
Sweets were distributed and guest could take pictures with the singers
and or participate in the Christmas spirit. General Manager Mr. Jan
Verduyn thanked the carol singers and their conductor for being there to
soar the Christmas spirit at Karachi Marriott Hotel.
