PIA flight operations across country wind down as employees killed in Karachi clash


KARACHI: The death toll from a clash between protesting PIA workers and security personnel at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi rose to three, SAMAA reported.
Zubair, a PIA worker, who was critically wounded in a gunshot, succumbed to his wounds at Jinnah Hospital.
Earlier, Inayat Raza and Saleem Akbar died after suffering from straight firing. Inayat Raza was working as an Asssitant Manager while Saleem Akbar was an engineer.
The clash took place after Rangers and police tried to stop PIA workers from holding a rally against the proposed privatization of the airline. Water canon was used to disperse the employees who are protesting against proposed privatization of PIA.
