Today is the 12th of June 2016 . First of All Since this is the first Sunday Blog in the Holy Month of Ramzan I would like to wish everybody Ramzan Mubarak.
Ramzan begin here in karachi on the 7th of June and today in few hours the 6th fast (roza) will begin after Sehri. I hope to continue this Sunday Blog # 10 during my Fast till afternoon. The Most interesting thing about the beginning of this Ramzan is that i sighted the moon myself . I was in the local mosque for the maghrib prayers on the 6th of june monday when i saw a group of people gathered together in one corner of the mosque looking up at the sky . There i saw a very thin crescent barely above the roof of the mosque. Very excited i returned home to tell everybody but it seems that they already knew from the over excited tv news channels. Anyways . The First of Ramzan was on the 7th of June which happens to be the date of My Happy Birthday. But the 2nd of Ramzan is my Ammi's death Anniversary so i let it pass peacefully this time hope to have a better one next time. If it was the first of Ramzan this year next it would be the 11th of Ramzan O my God.... that would be Grand Fathers death anniversary can't miss that no no nono no....♥☻♥
Talking of Deaths our prayer leader Qari saab's brother in law and Mother in law passed away just before the beginning of ramzan he was quite depressed on the first day . I don't think it is easy to recover from such great shock so sudden but still he is doing justice to the recitation of Holy Quran in Taravee prayer every night. Allah taala qari saab kay behnoie aur khusdaman sahiba ki maghfirat farmaay aur unn kay ahle khana ko sabr ay jameel ata farmaay Ameen.
2:15 am today the sehri time ends at 4:13 am . I don't like very heavy sehri . I usually eat a scrambled egg sometimes two with bread or paratha. and tea. and a bottle of water as the siren starts. Ammi use to make beef Shami kababs very regularly during every Ramzan. plus the left over mutton or Chicken gravy from the dinner . God Bless Her Soul she use to go to a lot of trouble preparing and serving sehri on time. The first thing she used to do after waking up was mixing milk is this the correct word i hope so pouring milk into the thin vermicelli only seen in Ramzan called "Pheni" and add sugar. Ah those were the days when Sugar use to be a Blessing and not a disease . these days when i buy sugar and ghee at a local market people look at me as if i am buying Rat poison . ( dekhna ye sub ko mar kay sari property harrap ley ga..) . Its been almost a week that i am deliberately shying away from the mountain of the whirlpool(لچھے دار ) of Fresh Fried Pheni at the dada ji halwai shop est since . I always loved preparing of Pheni than eating it half asleep in the middle of the night. BTW tonight the neighbours are playing night cricket just to keep me going and do the Sunday blog # 10 . The preview looks impressive already .
3:00 am Cadbury Dairy Milk Break !
11:30 am So after sehri ,fajar and a very good morning sleep i am back . its very peaceful and quiet in the neighbourhood as all the night cricketers are fast asleep and the masi brigade and TCS is off today i so wonder what they do on days when they can't come here.
There are two famous personalities in Pakistan or from Pakistan who have revolutionized the health sector in both rural and urban Pakistan first is the beloved Prime Minister multiple times Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif who is currently recovering from a open heart surgery in london and the other is the very down to earth almost worshiped mr Abdus Sattar Edhi who is currently not recovering and getting worse day by day just like his neighbourhood in the old city area of downtown karachi.
Working simultaneously but in different worlds mian saab built the road and motorway all across the country so any body no matter how far and away lives can bring their seriously ill patients to the hospitals and clinics . And Mr Edhi developed a country wide Ambulance network in the private sector so anybody and everybody can take the dead bodies from the Hospitals to the far flung final resting place for the much awaited funeral and burial. God Bless Them both and may the love and affection for them grow by leaps and bound in the hearts and minds of the people and specially the rich people . Btw the reason i mention them here is because a very strange thing happened yesterday . Simultaneously , the HRH Prince Charles and Princess Asifa visited our saviours in their home and presented a bouquet from HM. God Save E'm Both . Btw there is a mention of Honey but no mention of Money obviously they must have forgot in the excitement never mind No problem.
Karachi had its first strike total shutdown call from MQM after a very long time . But since it was against the alleged harassment of Dr Farouq Sattar's security guard and house in PIB by Rangers in Sindh the DG Rangers took it as a personal challenge to maintain law and order so it was a tug of war all day and probably the insurance wont pay for all or any of the damages on the strike day.
Sindh Budget was announced yesterday in the Sindh Assembly . Since most the budget is by and off karachi it is sad that the Sindh Govt is just a middle man no body wants but the status quo and corruption continues to avoid the huge blood shed that is inevitable even if Her Majesty's gov decides to separate the two constitutionally. the successive election results of three decades and the recent By-Elections has proved beyond any doubt that no political party or force has the mandate to decide whats right or wrong for the people of Karachi . The Ongoing Second operation of Karachi cannot be just an Eye-wash . It Shows clearly that the civil administration has lost the writ of the state in karachi. In the Past MQM use to play the role of Vicar of the Bray with the one in power in Islamabad. But in this term the international pressures and test of federal govt had brought the PMLN and PPP very close together forced them to re-write the charter of democracy. With the govt and opposition being blind helping the lame there is no room for the MQM and its pressure tactics as Vicar of Bray. But This is going so well in their favour as people of 
Karachi see everybody against them and their elected representatives. The Only Problem is that because of the Money and Foreign escapeds the leaders are losing trust very fast and since MQM has a permanent Bed & Breakfast in London chances are that next Ramzan instead of reading the story of Blind lame and vicar of Bray in my Sunday Blog you may be reading the four friar's tale .
4:30 pm When i got up for Zuhr prayer i saw that the banana tree in the garden split from the middle
Tried to save it . The wind caused it to bend . The wind is stilll here but the clouds have gone . The weather changes so quickly that you can't even decide a tropical menu here. It was pakora mausam in the morning and now its not.
So now the Fast (Roza) is almost over about an hour to Asr prayer and then about an hour to Iftar. I could end the Sunday Blog here but i think today i should continue till after iftar. or if possible till after the taravee. Today is also my maternal grand father's death anniversary according to June calender Since all my mothers family is a non believer in fateha she use to offer hers quietly. As to why she offered it in june i believe she did not remember the islamic (moon) date. The Problem with us is that we remember both dates of our parents death anniversary so we end up offering fateha on both dates people not so close to my parents and specially the non believers in fateha find it very irritating they say that we just do it to have feast every now and then.
8:00 PM Yes the fast (roza) is over . i have broken the fast with a date and water , some cherries and Jamun ( Syzygium cumini) and Mango Milk Shake . after Maghrib prayers i tasted some pulao with garlic chilli chutney . Fateha was offered for maternal grand father its a sign of true love for a jolly Good fellow he was. i miss him a lot. Amen.
so now i am having a cup of tea . after that i prepare for the isha + taravee prayer be back at 11 : 30 all sweating wet... little chance of being here so I end my Sunday Blog # 10 right now .
